Aud the Deep-Minded

Aud, also referred to as Unn, the Deep-Minded lived from 834 AD to 900 AD. Her father was Ketil Flatnose, her husband was Olaf the White, and her son was Thorstein the Red. Both Aud’s husband and son were kings who died during battles. She was a great matriarch and one of the original settlers of Iceland. She is known for being very wise, and for her power and bravery during her travels to, and settlement of, Iceland.
